On Tuesday evening in Kathmandu, at his residence in Budhanilkantha, the famous Rockstar actor Robin Tamang, who had been suffering from a heart ailment, passed away, according to an initial estimation by the police. Inspector Dipendra Chand of the police division in Budhanilkantha stated that Tamang was found dead inside a locked room. After receiving a call from Tamang’s sister Bhagwati Tamang, who was staying alone at home, she informed the police about the incident. She had previously informed them after picking up Tamang’s phone. “At around 6 PM, when we broke open the door of the room and looked inside, he (Robin Tamang) was found dead. There were no any signs of a struggle,” said Inspector Chand. “It is suspected to be a heart attack, but further details will be known after the post-mortem examination.”
According to Chand, there was nothing suspicious found at the scene of the incident. “There is no sign of anything suspicious. The bed is tidy, and there are no signs of any kind of struggle in the room,” he said. Currently, Tamang’s body has been kept at TU Teaching Hospital in Maharajgunj for post-mortem examination. The examination is scheduled to take place at 10 AM in the morning.
Robin Tamang, who was a vocalist for the band Robin and The Revolution, had also acted in various movies. Born in Singapore to a Lahure family, he was influenced by American singer and musician Jimi Hendrix and The band Deep Purple. He gained popularity for songs like Dam Maro Dam, Kalpana, Keta Keti, Mero Maya, and Thikai Cha, which he sang after coming to Nepal in 1996.
