Kathmandu: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has instructed all agencies to enforce the laws against untouchability and caste-based discrimination.
Prime Minister Prachanda stated that untouchability and caste-based discrimination are serious social crimes punishable by law, and all responsible levels and agencies of the state must ensure effective implementation.
In his message on the occasion of National Day for the Elimination of Caste-Based Discrimination and Untouchability, Prachanda emphasized that all levels of government must be responsible for effectively implementing the declaration of an untouchability-free nation. He stressed that the state should provide special privileges and compensation to the Dalit community to free them from discrimination and support broader development and progress.
Prachanda highlighted that only through positive discrimination can the past injustices by the state be rectified and a foundation for equality be established, and for this, all state mechanisms need to be serious and committed.
