On Saturday, at the World Heritage Site Hanuman Dhoka, the fifth original work, “Ashok Vinayak (Maru Ganesh),” written by Dr. Junu Basukala Ranjitkar, Associate lecturer and Head of the Department of History and Buddhist Studies at Tribhuvan University’s Patan Joint Campus, was released. The book was jointly unveiled by Ashok Vinayak’s priest, Tirtha Man Maharjan, and Prof. Dr. Chund Bajracharya at Maru Ganeshsthan in Kathmandu.

Previously, Dr. Ranjitkar had published works including “Panchadan Festival of Bhaktapur,” “Dhammaduta,” “Charumati Stupa,” and “Murals of Hanuman Dhoka Palace.” In addition, she has co-authored “Sadhanamala” and published more than four dozen research articles. She is also involved in the editorial board of the historical journal published by the campus. The publisher of the book is Agraj Ranjitkar. The book presents the historical documents available so far regarding Ashok Vinayak.
