Kathmandu, Saraswati Multiple Campus, Department of Social Work, successfully organized a special program on the occasion of World Social Work Day 2025 with the theme “Strengthening Integration and Solidarity for Enduring Well-being.”

The event was conducted by BASW 2nd-year students to address the pressing issue of mass migration and brain drain in Nepal.

The program was hosted by Laxmi Neupane and Sandesh Sapkota. The program was inaugurated by lighting a lamp by Campus Principal Golman Gurung.

Campus Head Golman Gurung’s opening remarks: Social work is a practical subject, which should not only be studied but also practiced. It is a subject of students’ choice, which is intrinsically important for society. We are a society, it is necessary to understand the values ​​of society.

The study of social work should not be limited to the classroom, practical knowledge is essential. He also mentioned the importance of integrity and said that the contribution of social work is indispensable in bringing about long-term change in society.

In the program, students conveyed messages about the impact of demographic shifts and brain drain on society through drama, dance, Rap, songs, poetry, and speeches.

A glimpse of Nepali culture was given through musical performances.

The program raised the critical debate of demographic shift and brain drain and motivated the students to understand the reality of social work. The active participation of the students made the program effective, which further reinforced the importance of social work.
