The capital of Gandaki province Pokhara is declared as the tourist capital today. The tourism capital is going to be announced in the presence of Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda.
The Gandaki government, Pokhara metropolis, neighboring municipalities, and various organizations related to tourism and industry and commerce associations are going to declare Pokhara as the tourism capital of Nepal.
Prime Minister Prachanda has already reached Pokhara to participate in the program. On the occasion of the tourist capital city announcement program, a rally with various tableau’s will be taken out from Basundhara Park.
The rally with the tableau will reach Barahighat and participate in the declaration meeting. Dhanraj Acharya, Mayor of the Metropolitan City, informed that the official program of the Declaration Assembly was organized at Barahighat in PhewaLake.
Mayor Acharya said that Pokhara is going to be declared a tourist capital with the aim of developing Pokhara’s tourism sector and contributing to the economy of Gandaki province. Acharya said that Pokhara will be developed as a tourist capital with short-term, medium-term and long-term plans.
With the announcement of the capital, most of the businesses in Pokhara will be able to operate until 1 am from Sunday. According to the District Administration Office, some businesses can be opened for 24 hours after meeting the criteria.
